Tarrytown Revival Project was awarded as the Kitchen Category Winner in the 2023 Home & Design Awards, hosted by AUSTIN HOME Magazine. Featuring both an indoor and outdoor kitchen redesign, the indoor kitchen was centrally positioned between the entrance hallway, primary living room and outdoor patio This rustic modern kitchen, outfitted with textured Antique Oak cabinetry, is designed to impress. Featuring double islands crafted from natural stone, the space beautifully provides plenty of space for ease of use and storage. A uniquely designed, patinated brass chimney wall hood above the Armon Blue gas range by Lacanche establishes a stunning focal point. The kitchen was designed with a consistent use of polished brass hardware throughout, creating a unified, elegant look.

The patinated brass chimney wall hood serves as the visual anchor of this rustic modern kitchen. Positioned above the Armon Blue Lacanche gas range, it blends aged character with contemporary craftsmanship, offering both aesthetic depth and ventilation. The patinated finish gives the brass a rich, aged look, enhancing its texture and adds a sense of warmth and history. Its hand-finished surface contrasts beautifully with the polished brass hardware, reinforcing the kitchen’s unique, rustic design.
The kitchen’s polished brass hardware creates a cohesive and sophisticated design, tying together the modern rustic kitchen cabinets, Antique Oak cabinetry, stone countertops, and brass-accented fixtures. Carefully selected to enhance the rustic look, the hardware adds a sense of warmth and brightness among the black countertop for a beautiful contrast.
Thoughtfully integrated into the kitchen’s design, the inset bar nook provides a dedicated space for drinks and display. Nestled against the textured Antique Oak cabinetry, this feature blends open shelving with concealed storage, making it both practical and visually appealing. Positioned near the double islands, it enhances the rustic modern kitchen’s role as a gathering space, offering effortless access to refreshments while entertaining.
The outdoor kitchen extends the modern rustic kitchen aesthetic into an open-air setting, featuring marine-grade powder-coated aluminum cabinetry in Onyx by Urban Bonfire. Designed for durability, it withstands the elements while maintaining a sleek, sophisticated look. Exotic stone countertops offer a heat-resistant, durable workspace for food prep and dining while looking beautiful. Paired with black bronze hardware and a Wolf built-in grill, this outdoor kitchen integrates high-performance cooking with the home’s rustic modern kitchen aesthetic, creating a year round space for entertaining that is true to the clients vision.
